Worried about their male friends’ alcohol consumption, Portia, Pauline, and Priscilla set about trying to convince the men in their town that life can still be fun, even when sober. The "Sweet P’s", as the girls are called, each wears an earring in the shape of a silver pitcher as a symbol of their society.
