Dorothy's first journey along the yellow brick road; the boy Tip, the Scarecrow's reign and the army of girls; and Dorothy's return by way of a shipwreck, the Nome King and the Deadly Desert. Baum had meant to stop after the first; his readers would not let him. Its 352 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.
