This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. Archie Campbell, a fifteen year old boy, is both disappointed and angry. His father, a diplomat, has been given a four-year posting to Thailand. Archie has to move to live with his paternal grandparents, whom he hardly knows, in Scotland.
His father takes him on the overnight train and in the morning, Archie begins to see the beauty and sometimes remoteness of the land where he is heading. His fears of not knowing anybody, not having friends, being bored out of his skull, are unfounded.
Before leaving, his father takes him to Strontian, where fleetingly, he meets a boy and his life begins to change.
