I love that this was just a story about teens being teens and going through teen stuff. But I also liked the kooky craziness running alongside it. There were so many beautiful, hopeful moments it’s hard to name them all, Gerard and Mike’s changing friendships. Mel, the cats. Mike in the kitchen with his mom. His wonderful sister. The awful car park scene. The crazy bits I loved: the cats, the zombie deer, the names of the indie kids. All in all this is another cracker from Patrick Ness.
