Colossians was written to the Christian church in Colossae, while the Apostle Paul was imprisoned by the Romans. Infiltrated by false doctrines which claimed that Jesus Christ was not the supreme God, the Colossian church was struggling to keep their new faith. This epistle proclaims both the undisputed supremacy of God and the danger of heeding false prophets and teachers who attempt to infuse the Scripture with other doctrines.
