House of Earth and Blood (1 of 2) [Dramatized Adaptation] : Crescent City 1

audiobook

"Sarah J. Maas's CRESCENT CITY series begins with House of Earth and Blood: the story of half-Fae and half-human Bryce Quinlan as she seeks revenge in a contemporary fantasy world of magic, danger, and searing romance.

Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life-working hard all day and partying all night-until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She'll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.

Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose-to assassinate his boss's enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he's offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.

As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City's underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion-one that could set them both free, if they'd only let it.

With unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and page-turning suspense, this richly inventive new dramatized audiobook fantasy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedom-and the power of love.

The book itself is really good, needed to get used to all the side sounds but it’s nice. What I do think is ridiculous tho is you can only listen to this one half on the app and you have to buy the other half of the book on graphic audio… so besides paying for the app you can pay another 16 dollars for the other half. You’re better off buying the books in paper form..

Had to get into it but it couldn't let go after a while. Not as exciting as ACOTAR but still a great listen!

Great audio! It took me a while to get into the book, as it is not really my thing, but once I got used tonit I did enjoy it. I like how the auther pokes fun of the tropes she used in her Acotar series. The story takes place in a world like our modern day world, but with fay and angels and demons and the like living in it. I would also prefer some more world building and descriptions to get more immersed in the world. I also don't like how everyone is described as beautiful, literally everyone who gets a description is beautiful.
