Just icky. The self-righteous pity party I had to go through to get to the end of this book. Seriously, the MC of the three books is constantly judging others and never learns anything from her lessons when others do. She has her head buried so far in the sand that while reading you're either along for the ride or you're against her. I dont like books that make sense you feel as if you're wrong for having an opinion other than the Mc. Idk, this book dealt with a lot of extreme issues such as neglect and addiction, with little regard for the moving parts that make up and keep these issues running. It's a very naive take on what could have been a very instrumental lesson for all the kids in the Mc position. This book failed which made the trilogy fail which is sad because the first book was good enough to keep me interested in going in for the second. I feel the author added excessive drama that did not fit into the storyline and ultimately wasn't needed that said they were very heavy-handed multidimensional issues.
