With every new phase of development, the System provides more and more answers. What its purpose was here, why it had come, and what would happen after it left . . . Of course, along with those answers came new questions. Such as, why did it have to go? And, since it had already come anyway, wouldn't it be better to stay?
In any case, Kasp still had to figure all that out. And even if he managed to work out how to get rid of the System, he still had to decide if it was worth it. It had brought pain and destruction, yes, but it had also brought new possibilities. Ones that could help restore the world that was and that could only make it even better . . .
