Probably better if you don't read the premise. The book quickly forgets about its own setting in favour of meandering about our main character's rather one note life. I do understand that grief, especially losing a twin, is all consuming, but god did she have nothing else going for her. All the characters in this book feel incredibly flat, which is a shame for something meant to be literary. Nothing really happens, and I have nothing to say about it. I don't feel the writing style was strong enough to carry the lack of plot, personally.
