Nightshade by Autumn Woods took a little time for me to get into, but when I got into it after page 70, I couldn’t put it down - I ended up reading the rest in a single day. You follow Ophelia, who lost her parents in a mysterious helicopter crash. What starts as a search for answers quickly turns into something much bigger.. but what exactly? The story is strong, well thought-out, and very intens at the right moments, with a pleasant writing style that makes it easy to stay immersed. The ending completely sweeps you along and leaves you wanting more. I genuinely can’t wait for part two to be released. Nightshade was the perfect, and well-deserved January book club pick.
