When the beliefs of an entire kingdom begin to tremble in the face of a love that could change everything…
The kingdom of Finsceal has known peace ever since its first king united the lands to drive out the Magelins, malevolent beings endowed with magical powers. Yet danger still lurks, and in the king's name, the Assassins stand guard, protecting the people from the monsters sent by these vile sorcerers.
When Elyssandre, a young woman in search of adventure, crosses paths with Keilen Bratt, one of the kingdom's most powerful Assassins, she hopes to find in him the guide who will help her leave her homeland behind. As Ely gradually falls under Bratt's spell, he, in turn, takes his role as protector to heart, seeing in her nothing more than an orphaned girl he feels bound to safeguard. But soon, all his convictions will be shattered…
