Thirty-one-year-old Merry is escaping to the Scottish Highlands for Christmas. Hiding away at Chestnut Cottage with only her Aunt Ava's menagerie of pets for company seems like the perfect way to spend a peaceful December. But when she arrives, Merry discovers some curious instructions from her aunt asking her to organize Secret Santa gifts for the residents of Christmas village.
Merry's determined to try and carry out her aunt's festive task. But on her first night in the little cottage everything goes wrong—including upsetting the handsome local vet Theo Ellis-Lee when he arrives to assist with a crazed turkey and the mischievous rabbit who's torn apart her aunt's gift list.
Merry's plans for a quiet break are quickly thwarted as Theo starts coming by every day to check on the unruly animals, and she can't deny he sets her pulse racing. She finds herself embracing the challenge of finding the perfect gift for each of the kind-hearted people on her list. But when the Secret Santa project forces Merry to face her heartache, she's not sure she's ready for a fresh start.
Will Merry decide to go home and hide from her problems or will she open her heart and stay in Christmas village?

Donna Ashcroft did it again! Another wonderfully cozy, feel-good Christmas story. Merry wants to learn how to stand on her own two feet, away from her three very overprotective brothers. She moves to Christmas Village to take care of her Aunt Ava's animals while her aunt is away in India. But when Chewy the bunny eats Aunt Eva's carefully written instructions—and the Secret Santa Christmas list—things quickly become chaotic. With so much going wrong, can Merry manage everything with the help of the handsome vet, Theo? Theo is trying to escape the shadow of his ex-fiancé and starts over in Christmas Village. He’s determined to find someone independent, but will his instinct to help Merry get in the way of his plans? I loved seeing familiar characters from Christmas in the Scottish Highlands return, alongside some wonderful new side characters. Every character is so likeable and feels genuinely real. I already can’t wait to start the next book! This series is absolutely perfect for the Christmas season—snowy Scotland, cozy vibes, and a guaranteed happy ending. All I need now is a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate ☕❄️
