I really disliked the characters in this book. The main character was painfully slow and villainous. The author seemed determined to portray the protagonist as pitiful or even a victim, which I strongly disagreed with. I hated the ending, and honestly, I hated everything about this book. I’ve never disliked a book this much. The only reason I finished it was to see just how much worse it could get. I’m giving it two stars solely because it stayed on my mind but not in a good way. I was deeply frustrated by what felt like the author’s attempt to justify or validate cheating or adultery.
