Israelās next judge, Samuel, is born to Hannah, a previously barren woman. Hannah gives Samuel to Israelās chief priest, Eli, to be raised as a Nazirite. The priesthood in Israel is in a general state of decline, and Eliās sons are disobeying Godās laws. God declares that he will choose a new priest for Israel from outside Eliās family and begins delivering messages to Samuel as a young man. Samuel becomes a recognized prophet throughout Israel, delivering Godās messages to the people.
Christopher Glyn became a Christian at the age of 21, giving up a promising theatrical career in the U.K. to engage in full time missionary work.
