Dick, Tom and Sam Rover leave school for New York and a business their father has bought them, and find that a rival firm and an old enemy have plans for it. Stratemeyer wrote the Rover Boys under the name Arthur M. Winfield and ran the syndicate that later produced the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew from the same formula. This is the volume where the boys become men and the series hands over to their sons.
