Arbejdet med udsatte børn i daginstitutioner er i høj grad præget af gamle tænkemåder og ikke-bevidste erfaringer. Med Bourdieus begreber felt og distinktion bliver det muligt at gøre op med denne ikke-bevidsthed og i stedet vende blikket mod nye områder. Ser man børnehaven som et felt med bestemte tænke- og handlemåder, bliver det muligt at reflektere over, hvorfor og med hvilke konsekvenser man handler som pædagog.
