A huge success in its day, it prompted several sequels, such as âThe Elusive Pimpernelâ (1908) and âThe Way of the Scarlet Pimpernelâ (1933) and has been adapted for stage and screen many times, most notably the eponymous TV series starring Elizabeth McGovern and Richard E. Grant.
Baroness Orczy also wrote several detective novels, including âLady Molly of Scotland Yardâ (1910) and âUnravelled Knotsâ (1925).
