In general the writing feels very one dimensional, most of the characters are kind of just there to play a part in the main characters life, with their main personality traits being who they are to her. The main character is also not great, she feels angsty for the sake of angsty. A lot of the dialogue feels clunky and forced and it feels like parts of it only exist to prompt a quote that someone can post to their tumblr with an aesthetic background. There are a few times in the book where there is something really good, but I feel it usually get ruined three sentences later. The main love interest is kind of off putting, and if had any more character depth i would seriously be questioning if we are supposed to even like him. Kit is kind of the only character that feels kind of fleshed out, I like hos development, but it kind of feels like he(like all the other characters) are in some sort of void until they’re needed for Paytens development(which also never really seem to happen) I think Kit’s voice actor is really good, and I did actually really like some of Kit’s chapters. Even though the writing was predictable, the dialogue occasionally forced, and the characters flat, I did finish the series, so I did care enough to know how it ended to sit through nearly 60h of audio, so that does count for something.
