This book is translated from the original Greek by John Parker. Dionysius the Areopagite was an Athenian judge who lived in the first century BC and was converted to Christianity by St Paul. He is venerated as a saint in many denominations of Christianity. Pseudo Dionysius was a fifth-century writer and philosopher.
