Om denne boken

Complete and unabridged, with 59 full-page plates by Édouard Manet, John Constable and Edvard Munch. A poet who has come back from the trenches tries to describe what he saw and finds the words will not stay in order. Ford wrote it soon after the war and it was not published for years; it is the quietest of the books he made out of the same experience as Parade's End. This edition binds fifty-nine plates with the text, among them paintings by C. R. W. Nevinson, Henri Matisse and Théodore Rousseau, and divides the book into Four Landscapes and Certain Interiors.
