"The Decameron (subtitle: Prencipe Galeotto) is a collection of 100 novellas by Giovanni Boccaccio, probably begun in 1350 and finished in 1351/3. It is a medieval allegorical work best known for its bawdy tales of love, appearing in all its possibilities from the erotic to the tragic." "Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure (popularly known as Fanny Hill) is an erotic novel by John Cleland first published in England in 1748. Written while the author was in debtor's prison in London, it is considered "the first original English prose pornography, and the first pornography to use the form of the novel." One of the most prosecuted and banned books in history,[4] it has become a synonym for obscenity."
