This author seems to completely ignore what coercive control is, laying the blame of codependency strictly on the victim. I understand that I somehow fed the moster I was with bit when I was deep in the relationship (also living in a country that wasn't my own) I felt helpless to fight the feelings of codependency. These authors that take the victem-blaming stamce toward those that are codependent seem to not fully grasp how it feels to feel trapped
