VIOLET
I was sold like property—caged and used.
After six months, my fragile hope of rescue is almost gone, but I refuse to give up because nightmares don’t last forever. Mine ends when Broadway arrives.
He’s dangerous and lethal, his world as dark as the one I’ve been trapped in.
Yet, he’s the only man who makes me feel safe, the only one who stirs something other than fear. The only man I trust not to hurt me.
Our connection is intense. Born from necessity, obsession, and raw emotion.
A dream come true.
But just like nightmares, dreams don’t last forever.
BROADWAY
I know trouble when I see it, and the girl with violet hair is exactly that—trouble.
Though not the kind I’m used to.
I’m supposed to rescue her and walk away, but the moment I touch her, I know I’ll never let her go. She becomes my obsession, my reason, my purpose. The one good thing in my chaotic life.
And the demons tormenting her become my targets.
I hunt them down, one by one, the bloodthirsty beast inside me savoring every man who hurt my girl.
But there’s a threat lurking in the shadows, waiting to steal Violet… a threat I never saw coming.

🎧 Sadly another meh read, the insta-love is an enormously slow burn and the rest it’s very pale. The intro to the FMC is just trauma and nastiness with other men. After the “getting” of Violet everything just putters along and goes through the motions. I was expecting more and something more. It just doesn’t work. Very wishy washy and scattered without any foreshadowing or clear direction towards anything other than Broadway wants Violet and vice versa. Lots of repetition of the same feels and angst. Some cute moments and cinnamon bun vibes. A kiss @ 65% and then it’s full on within a few pages with all the dirty talking and wall banging and then bam 15% left and NOW all kinds of new shit hits the fan and new characters are shoved into what was supposed to be a nice wrap up… I just can’t be bothered anymore.
