Odd pacing. I'm actually starting to like the characters less and less. Lucy lets Violet whine and get away with not doing her job, Sylvia is casually joking about the jewel fiasco where Lucy almost died and which Sylvia never sympathized with. Not a single person takes Sylvia to task. Rafe is just ok while Margaret Twigg just annoys. The narrator in no way sounds like a 28 y/o woman. The writer keeps recapping scenes from just a few pages before.
