Ben's niece Joan suddenly arrives for a visit, before Harvey can find the loot! Harvey finds his old friend Ben living like a hermit afraid to spend the money he embezzled but Harvey is sure he has it and that it must be hidden somewhere in this old house. When he is sure Ben is asleep Harvey lets him self out, slips quietly down the hall to the stairs. The fire is still throwing a good light as he moves around the room searching systematically checking the floorboards, the walls when suddenly Ben appears and challenges him.
