Annie Oakley was a remarkable sharpshooter whose legendary accuracy with firearms captivated audiences across the world. She could place bullets precisely where she intended from distances that left spectators breathless with amazement. But as impressive as this was, there was more to Annie Oakley's life than her ability with a gun.
With grit and determination, she rose from the abject poverty of her youth to travel the world as the star of Wild West shows that brought the drama of the American frontier to audiences far and wide. She met queens and kings and made headline news on a regular basis. She also made a lot of money, much of which she later gave away. With her devoted husband and manager, Frank Butler, at her side, Annie Oakley was ready to conquer the world, or at the very least, the next shooting contest. Yes, Annie Oakley was always up for a challenge. This is her life, this is her story.
