Bayou Folk is a Chopin's classic book containing of 23 masterpiece short stories shows rural life in Louisiana after the American Civil War and how former slaves, people of color, women, poor whites, and wealthy whites chafed against social restrictions.Kate Chopin (18501904) is an American writer best known for her stories about the inner lives of sensitive, daring women.
