Every night, a modern man falls asleep -- and wakes up as someone else entirely: a half-human ancestor living in a world of sabertooth cats, fire-worshipping tribes, and a species just barely learning to stand upright.Jack London's Before Adam follows Big-Tooth, a Paleolithic boy caught between two warring bands of early humans, through the eyes of a 20th-century dreamer who insists these are not dreams at all, but inherited memories passed down through the blood. Equal parts survival adventure and evolutionary speculation, it's a story that asks how much of our deepest past still lives inside us.Written at the height of London's fascination with evolution and heredity, Before Adam is a wild, propulsive glimpse into the world before history began.A prehistoric adventure narrated through the lens of "race memory"Sabertooth cats, rival tribes, and the first sparks of human tool-makingA rare venture into speculative fiction from the author of The Call of the WildGo back before the beginning -- the past is closer than you think.
