My first dark cowboy romance - But this is one hell of a flaming hot rollercoaster-read. This started out with a bang 🤭 BUT the first chapters didn’t impress me. Fortunately I gave it a few more and got stuck in with this hulk of a mountain man. He’s one stubborn AF, dark and brooding cowboy with trunks of emotional baggage, inner darkness (and kinks galore) -Oh, and a Darcy-streak -is worth a read. The character development is well constructed and both the main storyline and the underlying one are both interesting and emotionally engaging. It is a duet to be read in order so I’m of to no 2. “Smoke in the Valley” got a whole new meaning
