The first few Steel Crew books have a new and younger vibe than the previous ones and this one moved even more towards teen-drama. It actually made me think of 90’s TV-shows Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place, with its OTT drama, teen narrative and elaborate and twisted relationships. That it’s first 60% is all in Trues POV also added to a different feel.
This is not a slow burn, more like a NO burn, that flips on its edge at 95% and then ends on a HFN/cliff edge -Not a cliffhanger but certainly not an ending. I guess I’m off to the next one right away… can’t really decide if I actually liked it yet. Weird.
