Gwen Jackson is a musical prodigy – but she fought hard for everything she now has.
Xander Thorne comes from musical royalty. He’s a genius – but it all fell in his lap.
Already tensely opposed, when Gwen takes the spot of First Chair in the New York Pops Orchestra – a position Xander has coveted for years – their hostility goes up a notch… and their chemistry on stage goes off the scale.
Forced to find a grudging respect for one another’s music, suddenly they are box office dynamite. And as the respect turns to admiration and then heated attraction, they must decide – will a note of discord ruin their perfect harmony or can this fragile romance reach its breathtaking climax?

I mostly enjoyed reading this book, though I found the characters actions a bit overdramatic at times.

BLOWN AWAY! Absolutely amazing writing and a complete joy to immerse into. Wonderful narration by Savannah Peachwood (90%) and Oliver … (10%) Unfortunately the narrative is in 3rd person though - one of the few things I’d preferred differently, but they are both amazing. A standalone with connections to Soto’s … which gives those of us who loved both books, hope there will be a continuation of this “sort of” series, focused on the rest of Thorne & Roses and the surrounding characters… and hopefully some cameos. So yeah! I’m feeling lost at sea… A sea of shelved books right here on Nextory, wondering what to read/listen to next without becoming disappointed. To be a follow up read to these two will be a challenge for anything. I might have to go to my ♻️ shelf and hit an old favourite to cleanse my literary pallet. I enthusiastically recommend anyone with a fondness for well written, innovative yet smooth and lovable NA (sans über-drama and mega-angst) or (non-smutty) contemporary romance with some heat and humour - to get started on these books right away. Btw. Don’t get discouraged by Nextory labelling it as erotica & erotic romance - I read plenty of those too 🤭 but this isn’t that. Just saying 🤗
