Om den här boken

The Fall of the House of Usher is one of the darkest and most celebrated tales by Edgar Allan Poe.

Amid silent marshlands, an ancient mansion seems to suffocate under the weight of its own decay. A deep fissure runs through its walls, and a heavy, motionless air fills its halls. Roderick Usher, the last of his line, suffers from a strange affliction: his senses are sharpened to a painful intensity, and he fears sound, light, and life itself.

This audiobook is a chronicle of slow disintegration. Madness does not burst in with a scream — it seeps through the stones of the house and into the minds of those who live within it. As twilight thickens beyond the windows, the boundary between the man and the mansion begins to dissolve, and the house itself seems to become a living organism in agony.

The listener is invited to walk the echoing corridors alongside the narrator and witness not only the fall of an ancient house, but the collapse of the human mind and the fragile order it depends on.
