The woman underground

Homicide detective Amanda Miller and her older partner, Ole Madsen, are assigned to a local case involving a missing woman on the outskirts of Viborg. All the evidence points unequivocally to the husband, but there is no body. He is arrested and charged with manslaughter, but Amanda believes it all looks too perfect. She begins to investigate other possibilities, putting herself on a collision course with her colleagues and superiors. However, she is convinced of the husband's innocence and is willing to risk her career for it.

At the same time, Amanda continues her years-long, unsuccessful search for another psychic who might help her recover the lost memory of the traumatic day she witnessed her family being brutally murdered at the age of 10. The face of the unknown assailant, whom she called ‘the stone-faced man’ as a child, is all she can remember. The murders were never solved, and the case was closed. Ever since, Amanda has been driven by revenge and the pursuit of truth, determined to find the man who took her family from her. An Asian beauty and spiritual medium, Angela Woo, proves to be the key to unlocking Amanda's darkened mind.

THE WOMAN UNDERGROUND is the first volume in Morten Remar's exciting new police thriller series featuring homicide detective Amanda Miller, following the critically acclaimed and successful Mofibo trilogy starring freelance journalist Jakob Fink.
