Han är helt fantastisk på personporträtt. Till och med kvinnoporträtten är bra. Det är ovanligt. Anna Karenina är dock något bättre enligt min uppfattning.

Trög start med alla olika karaktärer men skulle lära sig namnet på, men berättelsen tog sig rejält efter några timmar. Mångfacetterade karaktärer vävs samman till en intressant och oerhört välskriven berättelse om Ryssland och det stora landets många folkslag, om prinsar, prinsessor, trälar och alla däremellan. Om mod, rädsla, slughet, kärlek och svek. Rekommenderas starkt för den som tycker om stora berättelser med många väl beskrivna individer!
