Trouble is looming along Warbonnet Creek between a powerful rancher named Marryat and the smaller cattlemen. Ned Hogan and his neighbours, the Caseys, are leading the opposition but they are up against Marryat's hired gunmen and corrupt Sheriff Templeman, leaving them with no protection from the law. With his ranch house set on fire and a murderous rifleman hunting him, Hogan is forced to go into hiding. Who is this mysterious stranger and whom is he working for?
