Ivy is doing her best to make ends meet after a failed relationship. She decides to take in a puppy that's been hanging around her place, but, when she goes looking for him, she finds him in the arms of a big burly man... Sam feels more alone than he's ever felt with his best friend about to become engaged. When the puppy he wants to adopt has another potential owner, he thinks it might be a good idea to team up. Sam and Ivy can't deny their attraction to each other and do their best to make things work, but the emotional baggage they both carry may prove to be too much.
