This sultanate is still a well-kept secret, a jewel with a case that has barely been opened. Yet it is perhaps the most attractive destination on the Arabian Peninsula. First of all for its pure and flawless landscape. Ochre sand dunes, arid or fertile plains, white sand beaches, turquoise water, steep cliffs, lush wadi, palm trees, coconut palms, more? Jagged mountain, deep gorge, perched village. Its people have a secular hospitality, its history goes back to the time when Mesopotamia, Egypt and Persia reigned supreme on earth, 3000 BC. Finally, for all that the country offers in terms of opportunities for discovery, encounters and adventure. It is a booming state that has experienced in less than 30 years an economic advance of several centuries. A development controlled for three decades by a sultan who knew how to take advantage of the wealth offered by black gold and gave the keys to unification: a name and a flag. The country has managed to keep its authenticity, punctuated by the daily rhythm of prayers. An omnipresent but tolerant religion, ibadism, a branch of Shi'ism, for the most stable, open and safe country in the region.
