audiobook

4th National Climate Assessment, Volume II: Impacts, Risks and Adaption in the United States.

The Global Change Research Act of 1990 mandates that the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) deliver a report to Congress and the President no less than every four years. The Fourth National Climate Assessment (NCA4) fulfills that mandate in two volumes.

This report, Volume II, was released to the public in late November 2018, and draws on the foundational science described in Volume I.

Volume II focuses on the human welfare, societal, and environmental elements of climate change and variability for 10 regions and 18 national topics, with particular attention paid to observed and projected risks, impacts, consideration of risk reduction, and implications under different mitigation pathways. This assessment was written to help decision-makers and other stakeholders by providing a thorough examination of the effects of climate change on the United States.

This audiobook is an abridged version of the full written report, which totaled more than 1600 pages. The Front Matter, Overview and Frequently Asked Questions chapters were recorded in their entireties, whereas the Executive Summaries were recorded for all other chapters.

Full report available online at: nca2018.globalchange.gov A website address is provided at the end of every Executive Summary chapter recording where the listener can find the full written chapter. The full written chapters contain the hundreds of scientific references that support the content for each chapter.
