Sample Book Insights:

#1 I suffer from stage fright. I’m not sure what drives it, but I know that I will give a three-count response before I risk making a fool of myself. There have been some beauties and some beasts, but the ugly ones are remembered the longest.

#2 I had a very hard time with separation anxiety my first week in first grade. I had gone to a school where my mom taught and my sister attended, so I didn’t have a firm grasp on what entering first grade entailed. I was alone with my dad, and I felt odd.

#3 I was excited to learn that I had been chosen to perform in my class’s talent show. I was nervous, but excited. I was going to murder. Then, suddenly, it was time for the talent show. I saw a fourth grader with a violin, dressed as KISS lead guitarist Ace Frehley. I felt my heart sink.

#4 I had no act, my costume was ridiculous, and my makeup was suspect, but I was still excited to perform. I air-guitared my way through the song, and the students sang along with me.
