It's been three long months since Chris' little sister, Molly, disappeared from the riverbank. His parents are learning to accept the official verdict-death by drowning-and hope that 13-year-old Chris will soon do the same. Their family therapist believes that revisiting the tragic scene and reviewing the video of that fateful day will help. But something about that video is haunting Chris. Watching it for the first time since the fateful day he shot it-the picnic by the river, the hungry squirrel, and the the ice cream truck pulling into the parking lot through the trees-he comes to an awful realization. Against all odds, he and his best friend embark upon a desperate journey to prove an impossible hunch. Jeff Woodman's skilled reading enhances the realism of characters whose reactions and situations are so immediate that they demand empathy. Listeners will be faced with the dilemma of wanting to know how the story ends, but, at the same time, not wanting it to end.
