Per Wahlöö föddes 1926 och var i grunden journalist. Utöver sina egna böcker skrev han tillsammans med sin hustru Maj Sjöwall tio romaner om ett brott - de älskade och kritikerrosade böckerna om kommissarie Martin Beck. Per Wahlöö dog 1975 - men hans böcker lever vidare.
