When I had this story all wrote down on paper, I gave it to Scoop Ellery and said: âYou take it home and read it and see if Iâve left out anything.â Scoop, who is my pal and shared in the adventure, read the story and said: âNo, Jerry, I donât think youâve left out a thing. I like the way you tell the story, too. That part where the mummy whispers is spooky and shivery; and thereâs a lot of fun and oodles of mystery. Yes,â he added, wanting to hand me a little praise for the work I had done, âitâs a pretty slick story, and I bet you that boys who like to get hold of a good book will eat it up.â
