âBayou Da Vinciâ is the story of a brilliant but crazy high school English teacher. An original thinker who lives in the backwaters of Louisiana, Wally Zeringue (nicknamed âBayou Da Vinciâ by his students) is widely liked by his students because of the long-winded stories he tells in class.
But there is a problem with the man because he is actually three people in one!
In addition to his âBayou Da Vinciâ persona, thereâs also his madcap alter ego, âMr. Z,â who often takes over in the middle of Wallyâs classes. Mr. Z doesnât talk to animals, inanimate objects and invisible people; he argues with them. However, he makes too much sense to be called crazy but is far too crazy to be considered sane.
And then thereâs âI.â A dark soul, âIâ is the identical twin brother of Wally (who doesnât have a twin brother). âIâ is the mirror image of Wally â except for the scar on his lower lip. This scar, which, instead of being on the left side â like Wallyâs â is on the right side. Something else about the scar: It is more pronounced on âI,â as if it hasnât healed as well as Wallyâs scar.
