Book ok. Probably worth 3 stars. BUT THE NARRATOR! I literally wanted to do unspeakable things to her. Why why why these narrators think they have to ”act”??? What a horrible experience. I had to listen this in short instalments bc she made me so aggressive and frustrated with her voice-changing. It is extremely consuming to listen to someone acting ”disturbed and anxiuos” with quivering, constricted voice, hour after hour. And her portrayal of the 30-something scottish man, supposedly handsome and possibly love interest of the leading lady! Narrator made him soud like a 90-year old. Every time the ”love interest” part was at play, I was 🤢 bc I pictured the man as someone with bent back and a walking stick, barely able to hold pee. Yeah, thanks, ”voice acting”.
