A snowbound train platform, a cheerful country welcome, and one irresistible misunderstanding set the stage for a Christmas to remember. When solitary New Yorker John J. Alston is mistaken for “Uncle John” by a bustling New England farm family, he steps into their holiday with open hands and an even larger heart—pouring out kindness, delighting the children with gifts, and quietly changing lives with a breathtaking act of generosity. But when the real uncle arrives, Alston must confess the truth. What follows is forgiveness, laughter, and the warmest kind of belonging as the family makes room by the hearth for a “second Uncle John.”
Mike Polischuk’s inviting narration captures every smile and snowflake—from Aunt Sarah’s hearty welcome and Asher’s barnyard pride to the squeals of Maidie, Billy, Dolly, and little John. Brimming with wit, tenderness, and the glow of candlelit games, this classic holiday short story is perfect for a cozy evening’s listen and destined to become a seasonal favorite. If you love mistaken-identity capers that land in joy, found-family heart-tugs, and the timeless spirit of Christmas, this is your next holiday tradition.
