J.C. Ryle was the first Anglican bishop of Liverpool. Ryle was also a writer and evangelical preacher known for voicing and writing his beliefs with a pleasant disposition. Due to that style, Ryle is still one of the most read Christian authors today and his book Holiness is one of the most famous Christian books ever written.
