âNo problem. I understand,â he said.
âNo, you donât understand,â she said and her gaze settled on the side stool. âWait, you havenât even drank your coffee yet?â
âNo, I havenât. Actually, I donât really feel like it right now.â
âYou donât feel like it? But when you arrived, I asked you which you would prefer - coffee or tea.â
He nodded. âAnd I chose coffee.â
âYes. So, you donât want the coffee? Maybe you would prefer tea instead?â
âNo. Please no tea.â
âOhh. Then juice maybe?â
He sighed heavily. âMiss, could you just leave the drinks for now? I would have asked you not to bother with anything at all. But your insistence pushed me to accept coffee, which, as you can see, I havenât even taken.â
âIs it because it is not hot enough? Or do you prefer it cold? Or with some cream? Or milk?â
âNothing. Nothing at all, okay? I donât want to take anything at all, miss.â
âBut that is odd, or rather unusual. Everyone does take some sort of light refreshments.â
âI know, but, honestly, that is not my concern right now.â
She smiled. âYou cannot wait to meet with the MD, right?â
He nodded hastily. âThat is all that matters to me right now.â
âI understand. I was once in your shoes too. The excitement is so strong and feverish. You literally cannot think of anything else.â
âExactly. You know how I feel, donât you?â
