Eugene O'Neill and American Society

In her twelfth book, Yvonne Shafer once again focuses on Eugene O'Neill. Her previous book, "Performing O'Neill", presented fascinating information about the actors (James Earl jones, Jason Robards, etc.) who created his roles. Shafer, who has been involved in the theatre world as an actress, director, critic and scholar, has taught and lectured in places such as China, Norway and Belgium.
