The Charmes de Hambourg takes the form of a brilliant Rondo prefaced by a lyrical introduction in the Viennese style.
Composed before Heller turned sixteen it was part of the programme he took on the road in a tour of Hungary (his homeland), Poland and Germany. One of his last works before abandoning life as a touring musician, it is one of the first of a prolific career span ningalmost 200 compositions.
