Laken is a strong willed woman who is tortured by the fact that being a vampire is not all the books and movies make it out to be. Her maker, Richard, is a controlling one-hundred-and-fifty-year-old vampire who makes fledglings do all of his daily chores for him. The only human contact Laken has is with her nightly donors; her's is a gay man named Eric. When Eric has to leave town, her new donor, Hayden, is much more than she expects. She is so drawn to him she fears Richard will find out. Each time with Hayden brings them closer together and they begin to form a blood bond. But there could be hell to pay if Richard discovers their secret!
